The garden of my childhood…I

Green lantern

Rain thrashes the earth

in torrents while birds and beasts

drenched to the skin hide

as lightening tears the grey sky

She glows like a green lantern

Dragon fly

A dragon fly skims

the air and smells the flowers

then alights on one

A bright yellow patch of sun

pregnant with honey and dew

The silk cotton tree

is on fire red blossoms

large and inviting

Birds and matching red beetles

throng it’s petaled silk secrets

White and orange stemmed

the solitary night queen

Ambrosial scent

serenely wafts from those blooms

Communion with the moon

Fractals 30

Lotuses gather

in a circle on the pond

Round leaves gently wrap

and nurture the unborn buds

Reflections on the water
