Encounters :IV

Rain

The rain has fallen

Dewdrops settle placidly

She is rich with scent

Petals and leaves of all shades

commune as she draws each breath

Frangipani2

The frangipani

pregnant with flowers and scent

looks on plaintively

As the fragrance wafts across

tresses are adorned with her

Maple & lake

The maple and lake

fire – ice a bowl of sky

Serene confluence

Ripple and rustle lake leaves

interweave harmoniously

windchime2

Eight rods to a chime

Silver streaks evanescent

A morning wind song

Pellucid incandescent

The sound continues to hound

White lilies

Solitary pale

Melancholic white lilies

lie shorn from their stems

A cuckoo cries mournfully

A soft dirge for their coffin
